Everyone knows Snapchat of course, but these days in Japan, the HIT photo app is SNOW. As in Snap, you take a picture and add filters and stickers on. It is quite simple but it is very successful among high school students (especially girls).
Why do they use SNOW over Snap ? Simply because there are more filter options and you can play with your face on the picture !
SNOW means : Snap NOW, Share NOW, Smile NOW. You take a picture smiling and you share it with your friends. The success of the app also lies in the many tools available to edit your face and hide ones flaws, put rabbit ears that gives a “cosplay” look, or dress a little more fancy than in real life. All these demands made by the young generations (Y and Z) are well taken into account by SNOW and regularly updated.
